Amina Technologies: AIW750i Amina Technologies have launched the new ‘i’ series upgrade to its flagship audiophile AIW750 invisible loudspeaker. The i version now features two of the companies Excelsior class exciter designed using the latest virtual domain computer intensive software modelling techniques to deliver super linearity of response only dreamt possible in the very best audiophile products. The AIW750i features two separate panel loudspeakers per channel of audio. One, physically larger panel, is focussed on producing the lower audio range. The second physically narrower devices reproduces the mid and high frequencies. This separation of functions enables the combined device to reproduce high power, very low frequency sounds, whilst at the same time creating a spatially open and incredibly fast and detailed response. The 750i also features a revolutionary refinement of the company’s opti-damping technology resulting in a beautifully smooth and refined sound free from exaggerated sibilance that characterise lesser products. One further dramatic change Amina have implemented in the new i version is the introduction of a simplified wiring scheme. Now a single pair connection with the HF panel daisy chained off the LF panel allows the products use in pre wired locations. The AIW750i has 100W continuous and 200W peak power handling, a sensitivity of 87dB 1m/2.83Vrms and a frequency range of 50Hz to 20KHz all when fully installed with a final 2mm skim coat of plaster on the front. |

Sommer Cable: SC-SPIRIT LLX Dealing with a new guitar cable involves creating an extremely low capacitance together with a breathtaking flexibility. Developing an insulation which ensures super low values by means of a gas-injected foaming is not an easy job, but well within the bounds of possibility for professional cable manufacturers. However, protecting this fragile insulation also against motion, creasing or twisting, is indeed a true challenge. With the SPIRIT LLX, Sommer Cable has gone back on the insulation-design of professional HD-SDI-video-cables. For extra stability of the inner construction an optimised concentrical litz stranding and a special insulation curing on the surface has been used. For the outer jacket Sommer Cable has applied a rubberlike soft PVC-jacket, which is highly flexible, extremely compact, hardly stretches and protects the whole inner structure from exterior influences. Robe: BMFL Blade Four fast shutter blades with smooth and precise movement feature in the new BMFL Blade lighting fixture. Individually angled and positioned within a frame - which itself can rotate through 90 degrees, providing a sharp or soft, precisely repeatable, frame for the projected image. Producing a new series of fast-moving in-air effects through pre-programmed shape and movement sequences of the blades, gobo images can be trimmed or framed in a regular, triangular or trapezoid shape. Each pair of opposing blades can close to a complete blackout. Two gobo wheels - one rotating with six slot&lock gobo positions plus another with eight static gobos can be combined with the Animation wheel to create numerous dynamic projected effects. Optocore: M Series Having already made a major commitment to the MADI standard, Optocore has announced a significant extension, with new advanced devices. It is the many advantages of MADI that help it retain its popularity - in addition to its easy implementation by any manufacturer. It is extremely cost-effective, there is no problem with inter-operability between different manufacturers, it doesn't require any special network equipment and it offers very high performance with very low latency. The new M Series comprises two modules with a number of interfaces: M8 with 4 MADI ports comprising 4 x dual BNC or 4 x duplex fibre, 2 SANE ports (which support MADI over Cat5) and 2 Optocore hi-speed fibre uplinks; and the M12 with 8 MADI ports including 8 x dual BNC or 8 x duplex fibre or 4 x dual BNC and 4 x duplex fibre, 2 SANE ports and 2 Optocore hi-speed fibre uplinks. In addition, each of the new MADI devices can work as a stand-alone router with single-channel non-blocking matrix - and each can be integrated with any other Optocore interface. Consequently, the company says it now offers the most powerful MADI router on the market with the smallest footprint. In just 1RU, the user can interface 640 MADI inputs and 640 MADI outputs and route any single channel between MADI streams - and also through the redundant fibre Optocore uplinks. |
